MyStream 05/2007

The line of cars that brought us together, though of late its not so much the cars but the company that became the thread that joins us.

The boys that came that night. Sorry guys, I am really bad with names. Instead of getting yours wrong, I will forgo mentioning it, as Jag keeps slipping in his intro: I am Rus... errr Jag.

Full line up, moi included. Notice that building on the hill at the top right corner ? Looks spooky doesn't it ?

The anchor of MyStream, Den and Rus...errr Jag. Guess what grabs their attention and brought smiles to their faces.

Secret negotiations between Mie and our youngest member, Steven the student. Good luck with your exams Steve.

This has got to be the highlight of the night, Jag getting the guys to do some line dancing with Den and Lan acting as the critic... Kah kah kah.

Nik ?

Overload ?

Lets do this again soon.

What a spooky-looking building! The modern day version of Transylvannia's castle. :)
Nice photos but I have to ask, what are the fellas standing around for? Are they waiting for something to happen? Or is it just the case of admiring each other's vehicles? Line dancing ah... more like ready for Bollywood-style gyrating. haha
By the way, not making fun ah... I love Honda too. My car back in the States is a Honda Civic Hybrid. :)

Ah yes, boys and their toys. Thanks for sharing the great photographs.

JT, the boys were standing around as no one wants to be the first to leave. These photos were taken prior to leaving and that leaving process starts at midnight and ends at 3 am for a few... That line dancing thing was an opportunity shot - they will be mad ha ha ha.

LM, yes boys and toys, you'd be amazed at the topic of discussion...

Ah.. men/boys. How do we tell them apart?
The difference between a man and a boy is by the price of his toy.

RG, sekali sekala with the right group you too will forget sleep.

DOF, like den says...teh tarik only first round, then mainly bottles of water, kuaci, pretzels from US...

LJ, what to say, when we play time flies.

JT, there are other criterias... he he he

Dear Apandi,

Men & cars are just the same like men & footballs. No telling them apart!

Have a good day my friend

Hi Apandi,

How interesting to form a club like this. How did it start? I looked at the photo and there seem to be 14/15 of you. Are there more of you? So are you guys similar in character since you like the same type of cars? Are your spouses similar in character too. I am just curious. Would be interesting to study kan? Anyone taking up this thesis? He he.

It started with den making stickers that everyone wants to stick on their cars. I think this has got to do with our desire to belong, tribalism if you like... chewah macam baguslah pulak. Then again that is why car clubs are mushrooming - people looking to be part of a bigger group, looking to belong I suppose.

I think the car, its price and accessibility criteria brought buyers of similar characteristics. Because of that, we clicked. Membership is in the thousands and this photo represents some. It is through this that I met Mat Salo.

You are right, interesting topic for a thesis...

The car itself is just the starter. Then, one thing lead to another..
Camera, Bike, Fishing, Gadjets, etc all sneaked in along the way.
Some of the guys don't even drive a Honda Stream anymore. Ehem!

Ya-lah, Mat Salo wasn't around to enjoy this meet. If not for the Stream (it's my wife's car I readily admit!), I would never have met Apandi. And I would never have met Ancient Mariner, who in turn would never have met Elviza, and so on and so forth. So the Stream has its moment in society I guess. But it's my wife that I have to thank for.. kan? kan?

Glad we didn't squander a portion of our kid's education fund on the Wish (no offense to Wish owners here)... :)

kah kah kah, see how pictures can be manipulated to show different perspectives. Here's another story. TT at a restaurant by a lake, its late. An anonymous guy joins in the camaraderie, talking and laughing with the guys. Past midnight he suddenly sttod up and walked straight into the lake. All the guys were speechless, shaken and left in their cars....

On the way back whenever they glance in the rearview they see the lake guy sitting in their backseat...
